Randall Residence
Thanks to Franklin Peleg Randall, 5-term mayor of Fort Wayne, the Randall Residence was as well known for its exotic garden as its unusual architecture. Randall's interests included railroads and horticulture. He imported plants from Central America, such as the palm shown above with Franklin's granddaughter Agnes Fairbanks Taylor.
The Randalls hosted lavish parties at the home, and during the Great War there were many knitting circles, such as the one shown at left, to make socks for our soldiers in Europe.
